I’m excited to announce that I’m a featured expert in a great upcoming event called The Art and Science of Food and Body Coaching Online Summit!
I am interviewed by Marc David, the founder of The Institute for the Psychology of Eating, and the focus of my talk is: Working with Clients with Gastrointestinal Illnesses – something I have focused on for almost 20-years in my private practice!
I met my friend Marc David in 2001, shortly after moving from NYC to Boulder. I had already read his first book, Nourishing Wisdom, when I was in Nutrition School and I was a big fan of his work 🙂 Marc and I became fast friends and would often spend upwards of 2-3 hours at coffee shops hanging out and talking….but there was one particular day sitting at Pekoe that I will never forget.
Marc was sharing his vision for a school that he wanted to create – a school that would unite the psychology of eating with the science of nutrition. A program that not only focused on educating people about what to eat, but one that addresses who we are as “eaters”…..all the parts of us that we “bring to the table” when we sit down to eat.
I saw the passion in his eyes and reached into my purse and grabbed a pen and started jotting down what he was saying on the back of a receipt. That receipt hung on his bulletin board for several years….and in 2008 I got the call from Marc that it was now the time to make his dream a reality. The Institute for the Psychology of Eating (IPE) was born.
Over the last decade, IPE has become wildly successful! They are on a mission to forever change the way the world understands food, body and health. They offer trainings for professionals, programs for the public, online events, live workshops and conferences, as well as plenty of free online content and inspiration. IPE is the world’s first and only teaching organization dedicated to a forward thinking, positive, holistic approach to Eating Psychology and Mind Body Nutrition.
