We created this Elderberry-Lemon Immune Spritzer to provide you and your children with a delicious way to keep your immune system strong this season!
For centuries, elderberries have been used for immune support, especially in the winter months. Elderberries can help support the immune system to help the body fight off colds, flus, and other respiratory infections.
There are about 30 types of elder plants and trees around the world. The European version (also known as Sambucus nigra) is the one most commonly used in natural medicine. Its history dates back as far as 400 BC, and even Hippocrates, the father of medicine, has been quoted describing the elder tree as “nature’s medicine chest.”
Lemon provides a boost of vitamin C and natural antioxidants that have antibacterial and antiviral properties. Lemon may assist your body in fighting infections and may also help shorten the duration of an illness.
This recipe was designed as a daily maintenance immune support for adults and children over 10-years old. For kids younger than 10-years old, please use half the recipe daily.
During times of acute illness, you can drink this Elderberry-Lemon Immune Spritzer up to 4 times daily.
