With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many clients have been asking about our holiday menu. We thought it would be fun to share the healthy, delicious side dishes and desserts our family serves alongside the turkey.
We hope these recipes inspire you and would love to hear if any of our holiday favorites become part of your own celebrations!
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving—we’re truly grateful to have you as part of our community!
This simple dish with only a few healthy ingredients is a staple at the Steinbock Thanksgiving table! The combination of maple syrup, cinnamon, sweet potato, and pecan captures the essence of fall in every single bite.
The creamy base of the soup comes from the pureed sautéed carrots, which also contribute their natural sweetness to the dish. Ginger, garlic, and onions are known for their immune-boosting properties. Rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, these ingredients not only add a warmth to the soup, but also contribute to a resilient immune system for the cold months ahead.
Butternut Squash with Kale, Walnuts, & Bacon
We find that when you dress kale with a touch of sweetness, even the most picky eaters will gobble it up (pun intended). The roasted squash and honey gives this dish its sweetness…and admittedly, adding a little crisped, salty bacon doesn’t hurt either.
Warm Green Salad with Honeyed Pears, Cranberries, & Pomegranate
We make this dish so often that it’s simply referred to as “kale salad” in our home. The contrast between the tanginess and bitter quality of the lemon juice and kale alongside the sweetness of the pear, cranberries, pomegranate and honey creates perfect balance. Our tip to you: Make a triple batch!

Green Beans with Toasted Almonds
Every holiday table needs something green — and this is one of those side dishes that’s both classic and refreshing. It’s simple enough for weeknights, but elegant enough for a holiday table.
This gluten and dairy free cornbread is not overly sweet, and that’s how we prefer it. While it started as a Thanksgiving recipe, it’s become a year-round favorite. We’ve served it alongside Beef Stew in the winter, as well as Grilled Chicken and veggies in the summer.
Call us boring, but no one in our family is a huge fan of the “traditional” Thanksgiving desserts like pumpkin or pecan pie. The way to our hearts is simple: chocolate. After a big Thanksgiving meal, just a small dessert seems to suffice – and these simple Pumpkin Butter Cups are often what we make. With only a few simple, clean ingredients – and no baking required – this is a dessert that almost anyone in the family can make.
Did you know that bitter flavors aid digestion? Dandelion has many medicinal benefits from its leaves down to its root. Because of its bitter flavor and deep color, roasted dandelion root tea has been compared to coffee and offered as a “coffee alternative” in the natural health world for many years. We love the bitterness of a dandelion latte against a hint of sweet and creamy. Try it and let us know what you think!
