Ingredients: 3-4 lb. organic chicken
olive oil
spices: simply organic all-purpose seasoning, paprika, sea salt
fresh herbs such as thyme, rosemary, sage (optional)
½ lemon
water
Method:
Clean your chicken, trim off any excess fat and set in the crock pot.
Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and brush to coat evenly.
Add a generous sprinkling of the spices (all-purpose seasoning, paprika, and salt) to coat the entire chicken. Place half of a lemon into the cavity of the chicken and place fresh herbs on top of the chicken (optional).
Add enough filtered water to fill the bottom of the pot 1- 1 ½ inches.
Set the crock pot to cook on high for 5 hours without opening.

We are not currently living at home (for a remodel) so I can’t look at the exact model, but it looks similar to this one on Amazon:
I hope that you enjoy! It IS easy and delicious!

I have a super basic question about your lemon chicken recipe. If I buy a whole pre-packaged chicken, what do I have to do to clean it? Isn’t it ready to go into the crock pot after I take it out of the wrapper?
Also, is the brush you use a silicon brush, and can you put it in the dishwasher? I’m always so nervous about cleaning up after raw chicken…

Yes, the brush is silicone and can go in the dishwasher.
I personally rinse the chicken…. on the outside and swish water around inside the cavity. Then I trim the excess fat that is around the cavity as well….so that my gravy isn’t excessively oily. I hope you enjoy!
