January 2020 Program

I love the idea of jump starting the New Year with resetting my body, mind and spirit. The reset achieved all three! For the past 3 months my health started to move away from the optimal level it achieved for 2 years.

Overall, I am flying high with the benefits of the Reset. I truly loved the daily self-care ideas. I found out I love the sesame massage and the ginger compress. The castor oil packs have been a traditional routine for me and I love the meditative state it puts me in.

We both thought it was excellent and very well done. We tend to eat pretty healthy, but this allowed us to take that to another level!

I thought the Facebook site was helpful - I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn’t want yet another site to visit, but I found it really helpful with recipe ideas and it was great to hear all the ups and downs from the other participants. It really exceeded my expectations.

The meetings again were great - you guys paced them perfectly and they are critical to a successful program.

I liked some of the practices better than others. The sesame oil is one I’m still doing on a weekly basis.

The organization of the materials made my heart sing :)…..Extremely well laid out and I especially I liked how you could click right into the practices and watch a video. Allowing for space for each of the 14 days was great, especially in the beginning when I was fumbling for recipes and what to eat each day.

A huge shout out for the recipes - love, love them and will continue to use them. I like how you noted which recipe would benefit which organ. I would have been lost trying to figure that out on my own and I think you mentioned this was new. Excellent.

Debbie and Dr. Roy!

Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for hosting the Reset. I loved everything about it! I very much appreciated that you celebrate each person's journey, regardless of his/her starting point. I felt I could focus on the facets that felt important to me (mindful rest, clean eating, knowledge on organs and supportive food), but not get hung up on others (one cup of morning coffee).

I actually finished on Thursday, and went to meet a friend that evening. I sat down and she looked at me and said, "What has changed? Your face looks so good." She literally reached out and touched my face and said, "No wrinkles." Obviously, she is a very good friend 😉 I share this (feels a touch silly doing do, but nonetheless) because I think much of it had to do with the Reset. My wrinkles were still there, but I think I just was healthier overall.

Some of the most notable things for me were:

My sleep was amazing! I was in bed every night by 10 and would sleep many hours (read: 4 - 6) at a time, culminating in 8+ hours each night. Normally, I'm glad if I get 3 continuous hours in one stretch.

I noticed my quick-snack habits when I feel hunger coming on and will just pop a few crackers or something in my mouth. Instead, I would drink some water and take a moment to assess if I was actually hungry.

I didn't lose too much weight. I am a little person, and an athlete (hobby!), so was nervous about losing weight. Happy to say that even without gluten or any packaged foods I stayed healthy.

I so enjoy knowing about supportive foods. And also the ridiculous recipes! Literally everything I cooked was great!

Finally, I notice some habits shifting for me - literally today - that I was surprised to see. I got home late from work and had to eat quickly and then bed routine with kids. Instead of something like a frozen pizza, I steamed kale, brocolli and carrots, put a bit of shaved parmesan and friend-pressed olive oil on top and voila!

Anyway - I know this is a bit long-winded, but I feel like we don't always hear from folks when things are good. You know what I mean? Just wanted to share that I was grateful for this opportunity and very impressed with the program y'all have created.

My third time doing the reset. I love having a chance to reset my diet and eating habits as well as take better care of myself. I could just use my old materials and do it on my own, but find doing it as part of the group inspires me to stick to the program. I’m glad you mix it up a little bit each time, and add additional recipes, etc..

My personal intentions for this Reset were as follows...

  • Wanting to decrease the inflammation in my body after eating so much "junk food" over the Holidays. (ACHIEVED)
  • Looking to get back in the habit of drinking the proper amount of water every day to stay hydrated, especially in Colorado's dry climate. (ACHIEVED)
  • Tired of eating the same few foods every day, so I was wanting new healthy recipes to add variety to my everyday meal regimen. (ACHIEVED)

This was my 3rd year participating in the Mindful Reset Cleanse, and have to say that I really appreciate how hard Debbie and Roy work to put together such an organized program for all of us "Cleansers".

I like that they update the program each year by adding new supplements and recipe ideas, to make it just a little different than previous years. I don't generally enjoy spending a lot of time in the kitchen, so I like the fact that the recipes provided are simple, healthy, and delicious. This program also motivates me to drink the proper amount of water my body needs every day in order to stay hydrated. I would highly recommend the Mindful Reset Cleanse to anyone looking for guidance towards a healthier body overall.

I was hoping to be better able to enjoy the taste and experience of more healthful foods. I find that sometimes as the year goes on, I let one “treat” in and that can eventually lead to a cascade of foods that are highly processed, high in sugar, or otherwise less healthy. I often find that when I do the Reset, my taste buds adjust, my stomach shrinks, and I find a new appreciation for better and less food. I do feel that I was able to achieve these goals.

This is the second time my adult daughter and I have done the program “together.” We live in different cities but had a wonderful time doing it! We often texted each other photos of our food, talked about meal planning over the phone, and even helped each other in a pinch (calling each other from the grocery store when we couldn’t remember a recipe item). She was home for one weekend and we especially enjoyed cooking together. This year we made the non-food component more of a highlight and both found ways to decrease our stress and increase our self-care. We look forward to doing it again next year!

I participated in the Mindful Reset for the second year in a row. Repeating the reset helped me relax more throughout the program because the familiarity of the daily practices, cooking, and meal planning felt like less of a chore and instead something to look forward to. And while the program guidelines were similar, this year for me was totally different from the last because our lives and bodies and minds are ever evolving. The best part of the Mindful Reset is its leaders, Roy and Debbie Steinbock, who are experts in all matters of living a healthy life, but also real people with similar life challenges living alongside the rest of us. I was excited to cut the sugar and processed food (crackers, chips, etc.) out of my diet for two weeks, and I was able to do it pretty easily. I felt great, clear-headed, and less bloated. I was nervous about cutting out the caffeine, but was also able to do it (that was the hardest part for me). And it was great to realize, after a few days, that I was okay without it.

Thank you so much Debbie and Roy! The mindful reset was fabulous and just what I needed. I have a pretty clean diet to begin with, but after the holidays it was nice to completely cut out the sugar, alcohol, and processed food. As a result, I felt clear-headed and much more energetic (without caffeine!). I will definitely adopt some of the recipes and self-care practices going forward.

I focused on hydration and mindful eating. I became even more aware how much I do other things while eating breakfast and lunch and then feel unsatisfied. I feel much better when I pay attention to eating. I also followed the dietary guidelines and loved getting myself back to some really good habits and knocking down some bad habits I had gotten into.

I’ve done the Reset for several years in a row. For me, it’s a great way to start the new year with some healthy eating habits in place. It helps me re-focus on clean eating.

I had a personal intention to follow the diet restrictions and do mindful eating. I was able to achieve both of them! I also did many of the daily practices and found them helpful and supportive. The journal was very helpful as well as the recipe book, I printed them up and was able to check things off. I also was able to stay on track of the water consumption too. I lost 11 lbs and more importantly, I fit my wedding ring on my finger for the first time since I was pregnant with my 3.5 year old son! That’s a huge accomplishment!

With the mindful eating I discovered that I was eating 2-3 times the amount my body needs, and by reducing that amount through listening to my body, I was able to feel great, lose weight, and have no loss of my milk supply for my daughter. I never felt deprived, which was really wonderful.

Participating in the Mindful Reset program really helped me reset my relationship with food and self-care in my life. I’m truly thrilled with the results, and will be continuing some of these practices in the long term. I will definitely be doing it again to deepen in the future!

This was a great way to reset my food intakes and reduce my use of sugar, caffeine and sweets. It helped me to feel a lot cleaner and see where I could cut some “bad” foods out of my diet. I actually lost about 6 lbs. which for me is a very sustainable amount/rate and I didn’t suffer at all!

I was hoping to build some new momentum toward making my diet even more whole foods based and to feel more energized. I was able to achieve those goals with new recipes and new foods that were introduced into my diet. And I think that the focus on hydration also helped with increasing my energy.

But the most surprising thing is that my sleep improved! I think the elimination of my 1 cup of decaf/day and no alcohol at all really supported my sleeping better. I even stopped using the melatonin that I would frequently grab when I was desperate of a good night's sleep.

The Mindful Reset materials were very thorough and organized. And with Debbie and Dr. Roy's guidance, the Reset program was completely manageable and achievable. At the end of the Reset, I feel lighter, more energetic and am sleeping better! I am excited to have introduced new recipes and new foods into my diet, as I continue to move to a more whole-foods based diet. Thank you!

This Reset was a gentle and wonderful way to adopt some new healthy habits into my daily routine long-term. I was never hungry and didn't spend all day in the kitchen either, but I experimented with new recipes and methods when I wanted to.

Debbie is so organized, articulate, holistic and comprehensive in her ways of explaining the what’s, the hows and the whys...I learned a ton!

Having Dr. Roy on the team was wonderful for me to know that this stuff is truly legit -- his explanations of certain aspects were on par with Debbie's in being thorough and beyond the surface.

Without the Mindful Reset, I would not have been mentally ready to exclude gluten, wheat, nightshades, and dairy. It has been a big goal of mine to be off of these foods for a trial period of 3 months to see if it helps with some chronic health challenges. This was the exact kick start I needed!!

And it may seem like a small thing but this also helped me to drink as much water as my body really needs. Though I don't consume much in the way of sweets, I have been able to scale back on honey and maple syrup even more in baking.

I am very pleased with the Mindful Reset program. Its quite a relief to have reached some food related goals with the help of this program. It was the exact kick start I needed to begin a months long foray into some much needed food experimentation with food to alleviate some chronic health concerns.

The recipe book was great and provided a wonderful way to think outside the box. A blessing to have all those great recipes culled together in one place. The pdf guides were fantastic as well. This is a great program for anyone who wants to up-level their health and self care practices! Thank you Debbie and Roy!

January 2019 Program

I am so happy that I did this program! I feel like I am back on track again, and it is sustainable. I am sleeping better, off coffee completely, drinking WAY more water, and generally feeling more healthy.

Thanks to both of you for guiding us through this program. Everything was so organized and easy to follow. It was a lovely experience for me and my daughter – we both feel great and plan to continue with many of the new practices (both food and behavior) that we started these last two weeks. Thank you for (re)setting us off on the right path!

My goals were to support my daughter and to make some overdue changes in my own diet including reducing caffeine (green tea), sugar, chocolate, and processed foods (crackers!). I was able to achieve all of these goals by adding the cleanse teas and making some of the wonderful recipes offered in the cookbook provided. My daughter and I were able to discuss strategies, recipes, and share information we had learned through the videos, Facebook page, and webinars.

Usually my husband and I eat pretty healthy, but after the holidays it’s good to really get back on track and get the New Year off to a good start. I lost the weight I gained over the holidays and I believe a little extra, but most importantly I felt really good on the reset. After the first day I really didn’t miss the coffee and I’ve only had two cups since we ended. Also, my joints don’t feel as stiff and my digestion seems better. I think I will cut back on my dairy consumption. The tea was delicious as was your dandelion tea latte.

I have done a New Years Program with Debbie & Roy at least 4 times and I learn something new each time. Their programs are affordable and easily accessed from the comfort of your home.

I like to start fresh at ground zero and get the New Year off to a good start. My biggest challenge in 2019 was getting off caffeine. And YES, I did it!!!

My personal intentions were to slow down and take the time to really think about my daily diet. I was excited to see if I could survive two weeks without gluten, dairy, and sugar. Alcohol and caffeine were easier for me as I had already exorcised those out of my diet. I felt by eating more cleanly that I had more energy and I didn’t have strong cravings throughout the afternoon. I felt more satiety throughout the day. Loved trying new recipes!

I wanted to challenge myself to take 2 weeks out of my life to improve my diet and give myself some much-needed self-care. I feel like I did pretty well in achieving those goals. I did the cleanse last year and I think knowing what to expect in the food portion of the program gave me a bit of a leg up. Previously, I remember feeling like I was missing out on all these foods I wanted to eat. This time I didn’t feel that way. I always felt like I had plenty of good options.

Our primary objective for the Mindful Reset was to eat healthier/be healthier together as we traditionally have very diverse views on what that means and eat very differently (think vegetarian vs paleo). This was definitely achieved as we prepared our meals together and often ate the same things – which rarely (if ever) happened prior to this.

In addition, I was looking to see if taking certain foods out of my diet would benefit me in any noticeable way. Given I’m on day 18, you can say it did!!! Most noticeable to me was no heartburn, fewer carb cravings, and a flatter tummy!

The benefits from the previous cleanse I did with you were extremely positive. As I get older, my metabolism is changing and I knew I needed to take better control so I could feel better. It was really nice to see how other people were doing and to be able to ask questions and not feel foolish. The recipe sharing was a true bonus.

I had fallen off the bandwagon of eating healthy food over the last couple of years. The last program I did with you helped me tremendously, and I look back at that time as being the healthiest I felt in a long time. So, naturally resetting was exactly what I needed. I wanted to get back in the habit of dry brushing, and other practices that support detoxing. I also wanted to change my habit of standing at the fridge or pantry for something to satisfy me. I wanted to lose a bit of weight. All of these things I was able to achieve. Plus a lot more!!!

Here are a few:

  • I naturally wake up before the sun and kids (!) get up, so I have some me time.
  • Fruit is way too sweet.
  • Feeing satisfies after a small amount of food.
  • Healthy nutritional guardrails
  • My family mostly enjoys the food I’ve been cooking. And I love to cook Whole Foods. So this program brought back that joy
  • I sooo enjoyed the sesame oil and the kidney compress. These are practices I will keep around!

Overall I think the program has helped me eat healthier, cook healthier, feel better (decrease stomach issues) and have more control over my eating. I am more mindful of what I put in my body. I haven’t been very hungry and lost a few pounds. Thinking a different way about food.

Although it takes longer to make food, there is a payoff eating whole, healthy foods vs processed foods.
I appreciated having the recipes and the daily guidance. And the focus on the different parts of the body was helpful with the associated daily practices.

I had two goals for this reset. One was to get in the habit of drinking more water. I have been so much more conscious of drinking throughout the day and I find myself actually being thirsty if I have gone several hours without water. I certainly plan to continue with increased water intake. And I love my hot water and lemon in the morning. (Can't believe I really didn't miss my coffee - until I smelled my husband's.)

The second goal was to improve my diet with clean, natural and healthy foods. While I do feel like my diet was fairly healthy and nutritious, I also know that I had a terrible habit of adding processed foods - like chips and cheese and crackers and cappuccinos at Starbucks. Obviously, I have not been eating such junk food on the reset and I hope I continue to limit my intake of such "foods." It has been fun to try different recipes with unusual foods that I haven't purchased before (I cooked the millet with carrot juice yesterday!).

As in all things, what a person puts into the experience denotes what she will get out of it. Or, said a different way, "you can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink." You two did a fabulous job of presenting the material and being available for questions as well as keeping in touch via the Facebook page. The rest is up to us. I plan to adapt much of the program into my future. We'll see how well I do. Again, thank you. Well done. (And it was fun to share the experience with some of my women friends.)

I have always been interested in your past programs, but the timing wasn’t right. What I appreciated the most for this program was the length-14 days seemed doable for almost anything-and the daily practices. I really enjoyed trying new things and will continue to explore some of these periodically at home.

I also feel like I have the resources to do another 2 weeks like this on my own when I feel like I need it. I suppose the motivation comes easier from joining a group-led reset, though. Thank you!!

I wanted to detox and improve digestion. From reading the manual I learned about a few detox practices (sesame oil massage, for example) that I hadn’t heard about before. Overall, I do feel like my digestion improved during the reset!

It had been a few years since I’d done a cleanse so I thought this would be a great chance to do a new one and learn some new things to do. I really enjoyed it. At first I was hungry most of the day but my body seemed to adjust and I really enjoyed the change from my normal go to meals. It was good to have the nudge to try the various greens I hadn’t eaten for a while and rediscover them.

I really enjoyed the teas which surprised me. Obviously, my body really needed what was in them because I loved the flavor and my body responded well to them. I may continue those in the future.

Dr. Roy and Debbie provide a wealth of information on how to live a cleaner, healthier lifestyle. They also offer simple delicious recipes, so you don’t have to worry about what to eat while on the cleanse.

I participated in this cleanse last year and was extremely impressed with the results. The inflammation in my body had decreased tremendously within the first 5 days. My skin cleared up and I felt I had more energy throughout the day. It was a real eye opener to see how food was affecting my overall health.

2016-2018 Programs

I’m not going to lie I was definitely a little nervous taking on a cleanse coming from my lifestyle. On a typical day I would eat an egg sandwich and coffee for breakfast, whatever my office would be bringing in for lunch (deli, pizza, Chinese, etc.) and a more sensible dinner (some form of protein, vegetable, etc.). In between those meals I would probably have another 3 cups of coffee...

When I decided to join the cleanse I made the decision to go all in and give my best effort. I am happy to say that I could not be happier with my decision. A few days into the cleanse I started to notice a difference in my energy levels, mood and overall health. I did not miss eating any of the items that were on the do-not-eat-list, and was really enjoying all the foods I could eat. I felt satisfied after every meal and loved that I did not feel like I was depriving myself of anything.

I lost 17 pounds during the first 3 weeks! I didn’t go into the cleanse with the focus of weight loss but was thrilled with the results! Now that I’m in the routine of it all it’s almost second nature. I lost another 8 pounds in the following weeks and am feeling great!

My husband and I participated remotely from Maui and felt supported through the documents, recording of meetings, and social media. Dr. Roy and Debbie were with us every step of the way.

The first week or so was challenging, but shortly after we felt our mood consistent throughout the day, more productive at work/home life, and overall well balanced. We loved making the recipes that Debbie provided and our young girls did too. We loved how much energy we had towards the end of the cleanse and my husband was not sore after working out like he typically is.

Both my husband and I had gotten into some bad habits since having our baby. We were rushing through meals, filling up on chips and crackers instead of planning ahead for more nourishing snacks. For him it resulted in some weight gain, and for me, I was a bit more irritable, tired, and wasn’t sleeping so great.

I am already gluten free, and we do a lot of our shopping at the farmer’s market, so I thought that we were healthy. But after the first few days on the cleanse, I started to notice the difference immediately. Cutting out coffee was a big one. It was hard because I love it, but I no longer had energy crashes. We also became really aware of enjoying our meals. We had better conversations, spent more time at the table, and tried out really exciting new recipes.

My husband lost 12 lbs (I lost none, but wasn’t trying to and didn’t want to), and I don’t have the sugar cravings I used to.  And overall, we are moving through our meals with a deeper awareness of how they affect us. When we eat crap, we feel it. And we don’t want to feel like crap.”

My intention was to go off sugar and dairy and maintain it as an ongoing lifestyle change. When I did this cleanse two years ago, I continued with it for the next 6 months and felt great. The structure of the cleanse made it easy to make the transition this time after many unsuccessful attempts on my own. So, yes- I achieved my personal intention!

Thank you for the materials and thank you for the opportunity to participate in this cleanse from a distance. I felt that doing it as a distance participant was great. The audio gave me a way of feeling a part of what everyone talked about and the Facebook group gave me a sense of being a real part of the group.

In terms of my experience of the cleanse, it was incredibly positive. I was really surprised at how easy it actually was for me to take some very basic parts of my diet out. I think it is because there was so much still allowed on the cleanse – it wasn’t like doing a fast or something like that. What I really appreciated about that is that I absolutely see myself incorporating a lot of the cleanse into my diet moving forward. And that feels really good. Because the truth is I really did notice some differences –changes in my energy level, my mood, and my cravings.

Thank you both for putting together an excellent program! I have tried various flavors of diets before with some results, but have never broken the caffeine and sugar merry-go-round. The format of the class and the group support made stopping caffeine very doable. I’m not at all sure I would have done it without the structure you created. I participated in the Winter 2016 program and experienced some amazing results. Some digestion and heartburn issues that I was having for years literally disappeared within a few days. I also lost over 10 pounds without even trying to restrict my intake. It was just a matter of eating the right kinds of foods. I’ve always wanted to do a cleanse but have never taken the plunge, not knowing which to choose. There’s so much out there, it’s hard to know what’s wacky and what’s healthy. When I got Roy’s email, I was in immediately. My busy husband Billy was up for it too. In a room of 40+ people, Roy and Debbie made us feel welcome and at ease.

Roy said these transformative words (or an approximation thereof) in the first meeting: “If you think about just taking things away from yourself this probably won’t work, I think of it as giving myself a gift.” That framing, particularly coming from a man… a man I like and trust, was everything. That framing calmed my nervous system from the start.

Roy & Debbie opened my eyes to adding much more variety and taking the time to experiment with spices, textures and flavors. They set up a healthy approach – “eat enough calories, don’t cut things out too quickly, listen to your body.”

A huge component of this cleanse for us has been the addition of mindfulness- really assuming a state of mindfulness during shopping, food prep, cooking and eating. Slowing down enough to put our forks down between bites has changed our universe and our perception of space and time. Sounds crazy but it’s true.

I’m not saying it’s been all roses. During the cleanse when people asked me how it was going and what it’s like, my response became “it’s like pulling back a curtain.” Behind the curtain for me has been some sadness associated with feeling empty, some anxiety I was clearly treating with food, and some sleep disturbance. We had definite days of feeling crappy, including headaches and bad moods. The cleanse slowed us down to the level of uncomfortable but we are re-calibrating to a slower pace, which feels foreign but good. My hunch is that it will pay dividends in the long term, with continuing ripple effects. Our basic nervous systems are calmer. Our kids are calmer. Our life is calmer.

Roy and Debbie have mindfully put together this cleanse, covering all of the bases, and I really appreciated how they showed up authentically- as professionals, as individuals and as a couple. The meetings were substantive and worth showing up for. Debbie made herself very available to answer questions and offer daily support via email and a private cleanse participant Facebook group. Roy was his no nonsense honest tell-it-like-it-is self (which I appreciate). Their guidance was consistent and sound. I’ve spent many years cultivating my own intelligence & attunement and it was nice to find that honored within the structure and context of their offering.

With their guidance I was able to update my unconscious outdated “dieting” mentality rife with fears, judgments, and a set up to fail mindset. Their approach was aligned with who I am today and my current belief systems. This cleanse is the gift that keeps on giving. I highly recommend doing it and doing it with an intimate if possible. I will definitely do future cleanses with Debbie and Roy and am quite grateful for them and this experience.
