I love the ease of a smoothie, but for one to be filling enough to count as a meal, it needs plenty of protein, healthy fats, and fiber. This Tropical Tummy Tonic Smoothie checks all those boxes while also incorporating ingredients that gently support digestion.

It’s light, refreshing, and easy on the gut. Perfect for warm mornings on the deck with a bit of sunshine!

How It Supports Digestion

This smoothie is not just delicious, it’s intentionally designed to support your digestive system. Here’s how:

Pineapple contains bromelain, a natural enzyme that helps break down protein and supports healthy digestion.

Mango contains amylase enzymes that help digest carbohydrates and is also a good source of fiber that supports gut health.

Banana is gentle on the digestive tract, provides easily digested carbohydrates, and contains prebiotic fibers that help nourish beneficial gut bacteria.

Ginger stimulates digestive juices and may help ease occasional bloating, nausea, and stomach discomfort.

Chia or flax seeds provide soluble fiber that supports regularity and helps nourish the gut microbiome. If you are sensitive to fiber, start with a smaller amount and increase gradually.

Coconut butter or shredded coconut adds healthy fats and fiber for satiety. Coconut also contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are generally easier to digest and absorb than many other dietary fats.

PurePaleo Protein is a hypoallergenic, hydrolyzed beef protein that is gentle on the digestive system and often well tolerated by individuals with food sensitivities.

Coconut water or almond milk provides hydration, which is important for healthy digestion and regular bowel function.
